Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has replaced British
beauty Elizabeth Hurley, as the new face of Estee Lauder perfumes.
Hurley, 40, has been the face of the luxury cosmetic brand since
1995 and will continue in her role as spokes model. But the
lucrative fragrance contract has been passed to Paltrow in a bid to
help the company "vamp up its image and make it more sexy".
Celebrated photographer Mario Testino has shot a high profile
advertising campaign starring the actress.
"Gwyneth is a true beauty who is a perfect fit with the Pleasures
concept. She's approachable, and casual and also has the elegance
and style that is inherent to the heritage of Estee Lauder," Aerin
Lauder, senior vice president at the company, was quoted by the
Daily Mail, as saying.
Hurley had been the face of the perfume, described as a "sheer,
light floral fragrance that combines freshness and sensuality in
perfect harmony", for several years.
A spokeswoman for the company said the change had been made because
it wanted "a fresh impact" for the perfume's tenth birthday.
"Gwyneth is new and a bit more exciting," she added. |

The last hurdle to Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar's marriage has been
cleared - Nayar's divorce application against his ex-wife has been
granted by the English courts.
The divorce came through in end-October and Hurley is reported to be
delighted with the news. She travelled to India last week to deliver
the news to Nayar and his family.
The Mail on Sunday reported that Nayar paid nearly 7,00,000 pounds
to his ex-wife, Italian former model Valentina Pedroni, to whom he
was married for seven years.
The paper quoted friends as saying that the payout had left him
financially stretched but deeply relieved that he was now free to
marry the woman he loved.
"Elizabeth is delighted that Arun's divorce has finally come
through," a friend told the paper.
"It was all very hush-hush and was rushed through in an English
court. Very few people knew it had been finalised. Like Liz and
Arun, Valentina had tired of the whole sorry saga and just wanted it
to be over."
Liz, 40, has told friends she wants to marry in the new year,
although there have been reports that the couple may tie the knot in
India this weekend.
Close friends, however, insist the pair are planning two ceremonies
- one in England and one in Mumbai.
"You can bet your bottom dollar that Liz will have the wedding of
the year," a friend told the paper.
"She has waited for this for long enough. She wants pomp and
ceremony, and at least three days of celebrations." |

How many racks upon racks of trousers can one girl have?
When you're whiter-than-white Elizabeth Hurley, the answer is
dozens.
We all know La Hurley loves her white trousers - she even designed
some for her own beachwear range.
But she's finally 'fessed up to just how many pairs she owns.
The answer is HUNDREDS.
Oh, to have her money.
Speaking to Easy Living magazine, Liz said: "I wear them because I
love them. I have to try and talk myself out of wearing blue or
white jeans every day of my life.
"Jeans suit my body and white is very flattering - I love it in the
summer, but white in the winter also looks very elegant.
"I would never wear all black. I would look dreadful."
Clearly Lizzie has had one of those personal colour consultations.
Asked just how many pairs of white trousers she owned, Liz admitted:
"An awful lot. A few hundred, possibly.
"I'm not very good at throwing things out. I have boxes in my attic
labelled 'white jeans: 1993'.
"Maybe (son) Damian's girlfriends might want them some day. Perhaps
they'll even be valuable!"
We're all for sticking with the styles that suit, but even we think
that's going a tad far, Liz... |

Stunning model/actress ELIZABETH HURLEY suffers from low
self-esteem and sees "a person who eats too much junk food and
doesn't exercise" whenever she looks in the mirror.
The Estee Lauder model, who recently modelled her own swimwear line
Elizabeth Hurley Beach, admits she lives on crisps (potato chips)
and coffee and is "obsessed" by sausages, despite regretting what
they do to her famous figure.
Hurley says, "As the years go by you do feel less confident about
your body. I know that sounds bizarre coming from a woman who is
photographed half-naked in bikinis but I feel self-conscious posing
for those pictures and they're all retouched anyway.
"For two years I've done almost no exercise and I've been surviving
on crisps and coffee. I'm obsessed with sausages. I'd like to eat
them every day" |

English model/actress ELIZABETH HURLEY has taken another swipe
at English actress SIENNA MILLER, claiming her new short haircut
exposes her flaws.
The 40-year-old hit the headlines earlier this summer (05) when she
dubbed the 23-year-old former fiancee of JUDE LAW "a bit pedestrian"
- and she's less than impressed with Miller's new "bob" cut.
Hurley says, "That's the thing about valuing trends above sexiness.
"It exposes your flaws. That cut exposes the poor girl." |
